My Fall 2020 semester, I was fortunate enough to be chosen to be a part of The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). The NSLS is a program that takes students with higher academic standing and then refines the leadership skills they have to build a more successful future. As of January 2021, we have 729 chapters with 1,326,904 members nationwide! The NSLS is also one of the only accredited honor societies in the United States.
Being a part of this groups has really helped me shape the way I've come to look at my school. Knowing just how to properly schedule and deligate my time so I can get the most work done, while leaving time for myself, has helped me get the most out my my education. |
Here are some other awards I had earned through my time at Copper Hills High School! I was an active member of the National Honor Society, serving the full 2 years and was awarded the white and blue sashes accordingly. The Prinicpal's Award was given to student in good academic standing as well as attendance. The gold cord I recieved was for doing 100+ hours of service and I recieved the blue cord for actively engaging in SLCC concurrent enrollment opportunities. The Seminary graduation diploma is awarded to those who have completed four years of seminary through their high school career. The necklace is an award through my church group called the "Young Woman Medallion". The medallion is given to those who fulfill a set of requirments which include service projects/community service as well as learning practical skills to help you later in life. The little bee charm is called the "Honor Bee" and is given to those who go above and beyond with their serivce.
I am an avid animal lover and enjoy having them as companions through life. Some have come and gone, but they all enriched my life by teaching me patience and unconditional love that I have within my self. I personally have a strong love for birds, more specifically conure parrots. Their bright vibrant colors and loud personalities remind me of myself a bit, so we get along quiet nicely. Currently I only have my conure Oakely, as Mango and Kiwi are no longer with me, and my golden retriever Caesar.
Having all of these pets through my life has taught me patience, which is an invaluable skill to have when you're trying to balance work and full-time schooling. I've also learned how to adapt to new situations and lifestyles quickly to accomidate them. This translatres to school life very well as with each new semester, it's an entirely different routine to go through. |
Being an extroverted person, I love hanging out with family and friends. From simple ice cream trips to obstacle courses to shooting out in the desert, you'll find me having the time of my life. I have been so fotunate to have such an amazing support system behind me to pick me up when I fall down. If it weren't for this gaggle of goons pictured below, I don't think I would be the same person I am today.
The first image is from an obstacle course that our band council leadership attened during my senior year at Copper Hills. It involved finding our ways through various situations which reqiured us to work together as a team to get to our goal. The second image is of my older brothers and myself in the desert. At least once a month, we pick a weekend to out and shoot targets in the desert to keep us trained and prepared to use firearms if the need arises. The third image is of my friend and I after seeing a comedy show of a trio of our favorite comentary YouTubers. We bought matching jackets from the show and stopped by a Sonic drivethrough afterward to get some ice cream. The fourth image is of my family (excluding my dad) getting some ice crema during a hot summer day. I included this image because it was the last time my mom was able to go with us on an ice crema run before her chemotherapy started. The fifth image is before my sister and I started to tie dye some extra white shirt we had lying aorund the house. Unfortunatley, I don't have the end result pictures because we gave the shirts away to friends and neighbors in our neighborhood. The last image is a bit dark but it's from a Girl's Night where we all went to Gardner Village to see their halloween displays. We all stopped for hot chocolate and coffe at a local Maverick after touring the grounds.
This section down here is reserved as a small art gallery to show off some of the things I have finished! I experiment with all different type of mediums, but I have to admit that I do prefer more "hands on" types of materials. Paints, pencils, and pens are where I thrive in art. Though, to be perfectly honest, I haven't been exposed too much to the wonders that are digital art so I may have an unbaised opinion there.
You'll see a variety of piece here and that is a reflection of my learning process as I went through each one. Using such a diverse selection of art materials forces your brain to think outside of the box, pushing yourself to go beyond what you are comfortable with. There are times where you mess up a lot, or even feel like you can't carry onm because you aren't skilled enough. When those times rose, I was given the choice to either power through the project but be unsatisfied with it (at the moment) or put it off until I had the skills neccessary to get the end result I wanted. In the end, this process of self delegating and persererance has shaped not just my art career, but my school career as well.

To your left, you can see the results of when the 2020 quarantine had finally gotten to be so I broke out my acrylic paints and got to work! I love sun sets and making simple stories through them, which birthed out this creation you see now. |
Here are some characters from a Dungeons and Dragons campaign with me and my friends. These were some concepts I drew inbetween fights to better emerse myself into our journeys.
I've also included some rough sketches of fighting poses for two of the characters, Relentless and Aluna. These have also helped in our campaign to know what our charactes could actually be physically capable of doing. |

These are just a few more examples of some doodles I've done. Personally, I like to draw traditionally with pencil and paper and then line it with markers before coloring with colored pencils/crayons. The actual subject matter I draw varies from piece to piece, but I do enjoy drawing characters from mainstream cartoons or video games. The top left image is of a pokemon trainer and his starter pokemon Chikorita. The top right image is a prompt I did for Inktober, a drawing challenge for the entire month of October. It's a summer fairy with her bumblebee friend sharing a nuzzle. The bottom image is another drawing challenge where you draw art of six different characters from different media in one big space. I labeled each square with the name of the character and then which media they are from unerneath that.
